This photo was taken last December when my family and I travelled China back then. Miss those fun times even it’s almost half a year passed.

Finally, today is the day which I officially finished all of my assignments, what’s left are the reports that have to be submitted before the start of the final semester examination.

I would describe this semester as the HECTIC and STRESSFUL with comparison to previous semesters. Non-stop assignments and lab reports has changed me thoroughly. From a already-not-so-normal person to now a derange-minded person. Madder than the Hatter I think.

So, supposedly I will be enjoying my sweet sweet final semester holidays like I used to be for the previous semesters, but sadly this ain’t gonna happen this semester. I will be having my Industrial Training for as long as 8 weeks.

*SIGH*

Straight after my LI, my fourth year classes will commence again. So, in short, I won’t be having any holidays until I finish my thesis…

only 300 people were allowed to buy tickets at one time.

I realized that I wasn’t updating my as regularly as I’ve used to be, this is all due to the fact that I am simple too too too busy with my workload and assignments. But from time to time, I will keep updating… For now, CHEERS~

黄昏时的巴生

我们大概9.30pm才到达东禅寺……

东禅寺的妹妹尊佛像都很逼真，尤其是这尊……

这一道石墙刻上了好几尊佛像，很漂亮。东禅寺在10.30pm就关门了，我们只走了将近一个小时罢了。但是东禅寺的灯光把整个农历新年变得很多姿多彩。

当然，来到巴生就少不了肉骨茶。据说，香港有一位明星曾经到此吃过肉骨茶。

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!!

You’ll never believe how fast one week passed just like that, I can still remember the day before going back to Kuching for this festive celebration, and now I am back in Kuala Lumpur once more… I NEED MORE HOLIDAYS LARRRR!!!!!!!!

Well, its good to be able to go back to my home and celebrate the year of the tiger according to the chinese zodiac. While some parts of West Malaysia is now basically scorching hot due to extremely hot weather, Kuching has been raining ever since the day before the new year’s eve. But I love the weather because after every rainfall, the soothing cool air will fill the sky of Kuching!

This Chinese New Year wasn’t as happening and fun as I can remember partly due to the fact that some of my friends weren’t around in Kuching. Basically, the old routine of my family still runs as usual

Anyway, Chinese New Year has always been my favourite time around… looking forward for the next holiday…

It was a fun Chinese Biomedic Club NIght on the 16th of January which took place at The Palace of the Golden Horses.

The organizing committees really push to their limits and successfully put together a splendid, I would say perfect coursenight for us all.

The night will be a sure sweet memory for the graduating 4th year seniors of mine.

Something in my gut told me that he has never tried Belacan BeeHoon before, so yesterday, we headed to ChungHua Primary School No.3′s hawker center to taste the it! Besides that, eating ais kacang, ABC, Metahorn and White Lady (names of cendol-like beverages but are nothing like cendol of West Malaysia) is also a must!

Metahorn served with cendol, fruits, barley, jelly, grass jelly and a final touch of lime slices. The taste is somewhat soury sweet and refreshing.

With nowhere to go, no idea of where to hangout, The Spring is the best option again to go hangout.

The atmosphere of festival has begun to fill the air. Just yesterday I witness the transformation of the shopping mall into a white-colour themed place to be in.

For most Kuchingites, The Spring still remains the best place to shop, loiter and to get a glimpse of the latest fashion. Served as a high-end mall, I love to hangout here as well.

My friend YangLip was finishing his lab research around 4 pm in the afternoon, so we decided to meet up at Kota Sentosa (where most Kuchingites refer to as 7th mile) to drink the famous three layer iced tea. The three layers are consist of tea of course, the bottom most layer is the Gula Apong, or Palm Sugar (made from Atap Palm three) and the white-coloured layer is creamer or milk.  

The quality control of the drink is superb because the taste hasn’t change everytime I drink it! Thumbs up for it! The Kopitiam (coffee shop) selling this iced tea is the pioneer before other kopitiams try to improvise their own version and selling this drink. Recently I noticed that somewhere in KL, there is a Kopitiam selling three layer tea already, but the taste……………..

Kuching Square Tower is again accompanied with colourful fountains which has stop operating for quite some time.

Later last night, it is supper time again! With my usual supper kakis, we first went to Jalan Astana to have Mee Sapi (beef noodles) which taste superb and then to Sambal, a sort of like mamak but not exactly one operating 24hours.

That’s was not it! The time was 1.30 am and we left Sambal for our third stations…

It’s been a long time that I didn’t able to spend the whole day with activity like yesterday. Finally I can sense the real holiday mood now!

I cooked authentic 潮式蚝煎 (not sure what it is called in english, whether it is ’oyster omelette’ or ‘pan-fried oyster’). This Teochew version of 蚝煎 is nothing like the ones available in seafood restaurants around Kuching (the crispy type) or the ones they serve in West Malaysia (where they basically fried corn starch mixed with water with eggs and oysters), it has a more creamy and soft texture which taste fantastic with soy sauce and white pepper. Although the recipe is simple – corn starch, water, plenty of eggs onions or spring onions and main ingredient, the oysters, the mixture of corn starch is vital to ensure that the texture is perfect and the outcome is satisfactory…

I learned this from my Grandma since I was little and I have been always a big fan of 蚝煎. No matter where I go, if the words 蚝煎 pop up, it is a must try for me…

It’s been our new trend to have our late night drink at Jalan Astana. In fact, I believe that Jalan Astana has become our latest must-go supper spot in Kuching. Remember go there with one and only one aim – to tackle the unbreakable 100 sticks of satay record!!!

Now what’s supper without multiple ‘supper stations’ right? Next stop is the Lok-Lok cafe behind my ex-school – Kuching High School.

Well no matter how much you ordered, they will be gone eventually

So last night, there we were again with our car stopped by the empty street just before heading down towards Main Bazaar, to buy what is being rumoured as the BEST burger anyone has ever taste in the whole Kuching – Azza Burger.

I have to admit, the malays really owns their special brands of roadside burgers. Contrary to those western versions or burgers where they usually are served with mayo and pickles with tomato slices, our local roadside burgers are moist inside out with heavy spread of tomato, oyster sauces (at least I think it is) and instead of pickles, huge chunks of onions are added and the final touch up will be large spread of mayo!

Gotta go back for more, and because its usually open in the late evening until really late at night, this Azza Burgers are usually eaten as late night snack…

2 bacteria to be identified…

2 things I need to do after exams – laundry and cleaning room…

2 days before I am heading back to Kuching!!!

So as usual, proceed to the lab and I got my media plates… and guess what, bacteria on one of the three media plates grow pathetically few colonies. I became panicky for a moment not knowing what to do next. This is just the least that was happening to me earlier, another media plate, I am suppose to roughly identify the bacteria with reference to the haemolysis zone (breakdown of RBC within the agar) sp the bacteria I got were suppose to be of Streptococcus sp.

BUT…

There were no haemolysis zone… gosh! I went blur just now!!!!!

Nonetheless, I kinda sorted out my problem and went on to do the plates streaking… this lab practical test is killing me bit by bit right now…

Now, I just hope that my bacteria will grow to perfection tomorrow because if it is not, well… just hope that it will…

Weather in KL these days is strange but I kinda like it very much. I used to complain that the weather in KL is scorching hot but lately, the weather has revert towards a more soothing and cool condition. With heavy downpour everyday around 3-5 pm, the bed simply calls out for one to take a nap…

2 weeks had passed since my paper started and well, to be honest, I kinda lost the urge to revise again (having 2 more papers and a monday-to-friday-bacteria-culturing lab practical exams. 1 more week it is before I am on my way back to Kuching.

I thought of releasing myself a bit from the entangling stress I was experiencing for past 2 weeks, so grab my camera and shoot some photos around KLCC before I headed into Suria KLCC for some relaxing walk-around.

I have already been insomniac for 2 nights straight…

This has consequent me to lack concentration in my studies during my day time.

My progress is extremely SLOW now.

God knows whether I can pass my exams this time around with flying colours as I already screwed one subject on Wednesday…

Did my first exam paper – NB3213 Haematology and Transfusion Science this afternoon (12 pm sharp, well I did hear a whole percussion rolling away in my stomach back then in the exam hall – *shy*)

Anyway the good thing about exams is that I am one step nearer to the date I am going back to Kuching with each passing paper.

But…

Everytime during exams week, my foot nastiness is back again causing me much unneeded trouble!

*sigh*

My dinner tonight. No kidding, my first McDelivery in 2 and a half years staying in Kuala Lumpur.

I am running out of time, AGAIN!

Gotta tell myself to stay calm and face the exams with strong will…

Our service includes blood screening, bloog pressure checking, eye checking, ear checking, dietitian and nutritian giving advice, diagnostic imaging students giving talk on self breat cancer screening and etc…

This is my foster family that I’d stayed together with Zainal and Jeremy from UKM for 3 days…

I would say I was reluctant to join this program initially, but due to no other choice given but the attend it in order to sit for my paper during my final semester exam, I followed in the end. Something caught up during the first day of the program where by my name was not in the list, but after some communication done with the lecturer in charge, I was fortunate enough to go to Johor.

The program was aimed at giving medical health checkup for the villagers, who they find it inconvenient to go to hospital for medical checkups.  I will treasure the memories with them always!!!

The program ended at Sunday evening and I reached KL at around 7 something pm, but that wasn’t the end of it. the next day which is 12th of October 2009, I joined my fellow coursemates that chose Infectious Disease module as our elective course, in a fieldwork and trip to Ulu Gombak Batu 16, Selangor for sample collection. Apart from that, we also learn some of the Forensics entomology which is somewhat important to us.

Above was the hostel that me and my coursemates spent the night in. This location is actually the research center of Malaya University…
